I trained Flik to care more (and less).

I had first heard about Violet before actually meeting her. And it was a mixture of compliments to meet the criticisms. I had no real opinion of the woman until the day came where we finally got to spar, she had been seeking one from me for several weeks and I finally agreed. It happened again over a few weeks and when they spilled into months I found myself approached by Violet to become her first “real” student. At first, I was instantly inclined to decline, at the time I could barely stand her presence and just found her to be irritating. But that does not speak of her actual skills, I have always and still do have deep respect for her abilities in speed and it was perhaps due to selfish realisation that this woman could actually breakthrough me and push me further than anyone else has in terms of fighting. It was only during this period which has now elapsed into a good month that I gave this woman a chance in the area of friendship, and I have no regrets. Although she still infuriates me at times with her strange sense of humour, I cannot help now but smile along genuinely and my loyalty to both my Teacher and friend has taken on a new level of respect and trust. I could not have asked for a better role model.

Man, I think I should make a list of people I've actually trained. From those who I actually taught how to fight, to those I've inspired to be better simply by existing. The list would be insanely long, though.
I might try it sometime soon.

If there is anyone out there who feels obligated enough to refer to me as their trainer, or teacher, or whatever, then I am honored. However, it is not for me to make a list of the people I've trained. The student always gives honor to the master, not the other way around. For that reason, I might make a list of all the people who trained me, rather than a list of those who I have trained.

A real master learns as much from his student as he teaches to them.

I was trained by Atimus, who was trained by Onslaught, who was one of the top 5 under Culex Onslaught Flik and Kyros. I also gained a lot of training from Vincent Valentine. I can't remember if he was in the Leonharts or Highland. And also learned a lot from Justin Winchester. I went to Yahoo a lot and learned to know the exact rules that Eden gave out for official T2. And Some people Flik talked about in Yahoo were Seth, Matt, and this one guy who was the best, his name was Alex. I looked for them for the longest time. I found Alex, and Matt, but never found Seth who was the same speed as Alex. But there T2 was a bit more complex then the shit we use. The fighters in Yahoo I met were very discriptive in any style.

BlueLightningFlik: Flik was never "trained" in the traditional sense. History tends to skew things as time marches on. To say that Flik trained WITH TRUE and Madruk would be infinitely more accurate than to say he was trained BY them. He fought with them in the late 90's of Yahoo chats, and while they developed the knowledge that he already posessed, they in no way trained him in fighting or imparted any skills he didn't already have. Flik trained himself in 1995, as the creator of T2 style of combat, and subsequently began training his fellow RPers at the time. BlueLightningFlik and the man named Blake Hardman are not the same, in any way. Who Blake Hardman is and how he became credited with the creation of T2 a full two years after its implimentation remains a mystery to those that were online in the mid-to late 90's. As for who Flik has trained, it's hard to say. Anyone who has fought in T2 has utilized Flik's ideas and core combat implimentation, and thus, can in their own right claim to be his students. Ultimately at the end of the day, the question is answered and unanswerable at the same time. Who trained BlueLightningFlik? BlueLightningFlik did. LOL, WHAT!? Sorry, I was there around that time it was implemented, and everything you just claimed, top to bottom, is untrue.

For anyone really interested in what happened back then, the completely history can pointed out in great detail, and I have a group on FB for the original Realms that these rulesets were used in, you can ask Blake and I and the others anything you want there about the origins of combat, the subtle changes over the years, and the history of the old Realms, etc. The group has nearly 200 [and growing every day- we added 4 more this morning as of writing this] of the players from that era, some older than others, who can verify as well.

Also, Flik knew The_TRUE_sign_of_darkness? [and was scared of him, both in Yahoo! and char31 from what I've read around the net] He was a kid named Matt and a friend and enemy of mine for a while. I could probably easily get him in here as well to give his account on how fragile and fraudulent the claim that Flik created T2 is.

Blake and Michael discussed this in pretty great detail in a podcast they produced for the very same Facebook group Juntai just mentioned. It can be found easily enough here. It covers the early years of Yahoo! Chat roleplaying, in particular the stuff that occurred in teen... Though, I feel compelled to warn you that, after some discussion in the related thread on the Facebook group, we decided that the whole thing was out by, at least, a year. Just move the dates mentioned forward and it makes sense. Which brings me to a point of interest in Flick's post. 1995? No Yahoo! Chat then--we checked, a lot.
