Hello, My name is Nathan Dexter (Liberazi), I'm originally from Nexxus Chat, but I've also been to Roleplay Gateway, Roleplayer Guild, Biality Chat, Anime Forums, Textcity Forums and a few other places around the internet. I started roleplaying back in 2002 or 2003, I believe, I'm not really sure, but I didn't really take on-line fighting that seriously until around 2008, when I had more time to actually get involved in roleplaying. Any ways, I saw Ken Kyo mentioned on your list, so I thought I'd tell you what I know. I don't really know anything up until fairly recently, since I wasn't really a big fighter to begin with. I was more of a noob who just did whatever. I didn't really have any background or interest in fighting until just within the last year or so. I mean, I've heard some of your names before, but I'm just not familiar with it like you guys are. That all changed in 2010 when I met someone named Dionysus from RPGateway who would come into chat and RP every once in a while as Corvin de la Chateau, an Assassin's Creed type character. Corvin had an alluring style that just got my attention immediately. Most everyone at that time was using futuristic or fantasy type characters with laser guns, nuclear missiles, and things like that. Not Corvin, he used deception and a sword. He would come in, make little hit-and-run attacks on whoever he felt was corrupt in the system, and then he would disappear. This went on for a couple of weeks. What kind of amazed me was that he actually had a small group of assassins working with him, and yet at the same time, they were portrayed as the "good guys" in a sense, Corvin being the Robin Hood of outlaws. Finally, one day I challenged him in private and he accepted the terms. I was a new fighter starting out, you know, so I wasn't really big on the rules or anything. Corvin suggested a TB fight, which I tried at first, but wasn't really good at. I told him about it, and he suggested "freeform", which was something I did a little better in. Any ways, long story short, I pulled out my gun and before I could even shoot, Corvin had performed some type of martial arts technique which placed me face down on the ground with my arm twisted behind my back. After a few threatening words and gestures, he let me go and then afterwards he even gave me back my gun. I tried to attack him again while his back was turned, but instead of catching him off guard, well, let's just say he fucked my world up. After that, I became his student. Any ways, about Ken Kyo... This is what my teacher told me. Once upon a time, there were two twin brothers who trained at a secret temple. One of them was my teacher, who at that time was using the name Heiryou Shinjou, and the other was his brother Seiryou Shinjou. From what my teacher told me, Heiryou Shinjou and Seiryou Shinjou came from a long time ago. They used to spar with one another and start fights with everyone in Multicity Chat back in 1998 or 1999. According to my teacher, they were both undefeated in a type of formless auto style. The legend is that Heiryou Shinjou's "freeform" fighting method came from a man named Kenshiro from Comicity Chat, while Seiryou Shinjou's "freestyle" fighting method came from somewhere else, through a different chat service. Apparently there must have been some kind of exchange between the two of them, because both Heiryou and Seiryou claimed that the origins of freeform/freestyle go back to around 1994. Heiryou says that his teacher, Kenshiro, learned freeform from a champion Yahoo! fighter named Dai Kiaou Shin, who competed openly around 1994. Seiryou supposedly didn't give a track record of his freestyle method, but said that it originated from someone named Ken Kyo in Homestead Chat around 1994. I'm not sure how accurate this information is, but in recent years it has been suggested that both Dai Kiaou Shin and Ken Kyo are in fact the same person under two different names. My teacher says that the guy's original name was Andy, and that he was the first international on-line fighting champion anywhere on the net, back before RP fighting had actual written rules. In fact, to my understanding, Andy was the founder of what we all know today as freeform/freestyle, and back then they probably didn't even have a name for it. If that's so, then it's highly unlikely that he even had a teacher. When it comes to speed-based chatroom fighting, this guy was the very first teacher. It doesn't go back any farther than him. He's the one who started it all. Even if he did have a teacher, the odds of proving that or even researching that far back seems hopeless. The only two people who know anything about Ken Kyo are Seiryou Shinjou and Heiryou Shinjou, and neither one of them supposedly gets on-line any more. Heiryou was my teacher, and I haven't seen him since last year. Lately, I've been using his name and spreading his name around with the hope that he might somehow pop up again and answer some of those questions and mysteries. But until then, I just gotta do what my teacher told me to do. He told me to preserve the culture of our clan, and the history of textual combat. Considering that Andy was not just a member, but the founder of our clan, I figured this post might help you a bit in your search for Ken Kyo.

Dante Damon - This man was my first trainer and not on the list. He trained me in philosophies that I would later rebuke in my fighting styles. He wasn't a decent fighter, but the man had problems in his psyche that I couldn't deal with as a fighter growing up.
Justin Gunshin - This man put me on the spotlights of speed fighting. Long ago when I first started fighting in Underground I was constantly beaten by a man named Ryan Hughes, a.k.a Buu was his name at the time. He would come into rooms and blast me with energy beams. Then there was Vatican Knight Lance who came around and killed my brother in front of me. I swore that day I would train to beat him. Me and Justin Gunshin trained for six months straight, late nights my fingers were screaming to stop, but I kept moving. I would find out that training nearly gave me carpal tunnel, and really significantly lowered my speed in the past.
Amicus - Amicus I liked from the beginning when I first started in Underground. She kicked a rather mean person who's name I cannot remember at the top of my head, OH! It was Slayer. Slayer would attack me with boots randomly, trying to kill me at each corner. Amicus didn't purposely save me, but killed the bitch all the same to me. Later on during my career I started training with her to improve my posts, learning words like swinging, swiveling pivoting to increase the level I was at. These words she taught me make me the fighter I am today.

Amicus: This woman has always been the biggest influence of my career, whether by means or writing or simply out right acting as a person. Personally she pummeled me back on Bluexmoon era as Kellyden and smashed me to pieces -- but beyond that I'd always had a deep admiration of her. It wasn't until later on we regrouped so to speak and really talked. Mostly my styling took on an image of her own, twisting it and trying to mend my own unique signature to how I write. Despite if others disagree with my construct of contexts, my way of writing is mine and mine alone. She's basically what gave me the drive to even get better, or strive toward improvement. I can fully say she's a sister to me.
Lance: This man is a renown historian, he's managed a thousand losses, but probably doubled the percentage of his wins in comparison to his defeats over the years. He's attained remarkable speed, and from just him spouting wisdom I found the will in myself to listen, try and figure out what he had to tell. He's a man composed of pure sagacity, he's a neutral to any party and generally he is incapable of taking sides. By his form of personality, this drew me to him.
Through him he was patient with how I fought or my own beliefs, he never judged or downed on me, regardless of what the circumstances may be. He's a good trainer, as well a friend. And I think anyone can learn a thing or two from this dude.
Prettz: By God this man is intelligent, perhaps socially...strange? But nonetheless an astounding being to be around. To most of HORP's regulars, anybody can gauge for themselves that Prettz has been an undeniably good icon for most of us, as a fighter and a person. This also drew me to him. For him in situations, there was no bickering on his part, there was no arguing, he'd only agree or move on from the subject. I find purity in him absence of greed for speed or what other fighters seem to go off of. Both him and Lance brought me around shorter-styles, even though I'm not accustomed or really too fond of them. But it gave me time to hone bursting or accomodating my future battles with the skill to boost whenever I pleased.
This turned out to be a bit of a ramble of mine, but I can proudly say these individuals have been my teachers, as well my friends.

There's a handful of people who've trained me, and I still consider them as great fighters, be it either in actuality or in their eras. Although I consider every fight I have as training, I just have to make mention of these guys because they're the ones who turned me into the kind of fighter I am now - someone who's constantly striving to become better to eventually pass on what I know to the next generation (AS SHITTY AS IT IS). During the time my training began, the little community of roleplayers I was part of, over at Rizon, scheduled a war with the Lucid IRC server community. They stumbled upon us and, to further RP, we decided that an all-out conflict would be the best way of testing our skills. Although I made progress during this time, sparring Lucid regulars as preparation for the war, they managed to wipe the floor with each and every single one of us Rizon players. This was the first time I fought Ran/Ignatius Eldridge, and lost through giving up after noticing the sheer difference in strategy and ability. Of course, Ran would be my next trainer along with Shiki, and further honed my strategical sense. They also gave me bits and pieces of new knowledge within possible RP abilities, which I expanded upon and developed as time passed by. Soon enough, Sohjin Kasake himself would come to train me, sparring often and giving me advice. Over the years, I performed better and better the more I trained and the more I fought, spreading out of the IRC community merely a year ago and also taking up forum fighting. In bettering my writing, I also saw an improvement in my tactics and in the new insight I'd gained. As for mentions and the like: Sohjin Kasake: Possibly one of the best IRC fighters I've ever met only matched by Calintz (another excellent T1 and Hybrid fighter) and a very few others. In his origins, he exceeded in speed and escalated to the position of #1 in various servers, including his "homeland", MediaDriven. Years ago, he took the reins of Isamahii Garden, formerly led by Kouketsu, and made it shine. In time, speed on IRC began to decay, and after several months of being MIA, Sohjin came back to lands previously blossoming with speed fighting, bristling with T1 instead. Deciding to take up on the art, he quickly became one of the best fighters of his era, and I dare say that, even now, he continues to be one of the best. An intelligent, resourceful trainer who won't hold back if he's gotta teach you a lesson or two. Ran: What this guy lacks in vocabulary, he makes up for in strategy and ideas. Extremely resourceful, I remember Ran as having a great mastery over the elements during the Lucid/Rizon war, using the environment to his advantage as well as the abilities of his blades to their full extent. He's often hot-headed; some might see that as a bad quality and it often is, but in Ran's case, I believe that gives him the drive required to keep going. As of late, he's not seen much fighting and is at a slump with himself, but I bet he'll soon get over it and return to the T1 scene. Shiki: A master of RM, URM, and FP. This person right here taught me a lot of things in the way of the blade, how to handle momentum, and gave me many interesting concepts for me to expand in. Shiki has the habit of beating stuff into my head rather than teaching me just the theory, which makes for fun training sessions. As with Ran, Shiki might not be the best writer out there, but the sense of strategy is top-notch, easily capable of taking out many opponents at once just by playing around. Lately, Shiki's not seen much fighting, but as someone with a grand trajectory behind, it's clear that whatever teaching Shiki dishes out, it will help anyone. That's about it.

Bwa...I can't believe you left my name out of the information you needed for trainers Quickhand. ~_~ But, I'll just take that as, we all know a lot about Rias. However, I didn't come to brag on about myself too much, I'm here to shine some light on one of the oldest fighters known even to myself. ArmoredTerraMew...I'm not sure if you meant that for ArmoredTerrorMew. However, my master Armored Terra Mew came from Pikachu's chat around 1997.
There really isn't so much I know about the guy regarding his history and past. But, when I first came to Pikachus around 97' I wasn't a fighter at all. Just a name simply known as Dragon Master Alex. For whatever reason, Mew liked me and decided to show me the ways of roleplay and fighting for that time. We all went off Auto and the Honor System. A very basic style, but done the right way it could come out flawless.
My master and I grew together for about half a year until an unknown enemy ambushed us. The true target seemed to be me...and before I was to be murdered Mew stepped forth and took the hit for me. He died, and a few weeks later the Dragon Council War began to surface.
During the times he was alive you could say he was the strongest fighter of Pikachus chatroom, and if he was still out there after his death. I'm sure he could have been a very strong rival.

My teacher also taught me to respect our ancestors, and those predecessors who came before us, regardless of their ranks or skill levels. He told me that it was important, even if you are a better fighter than some of them, to respect your elders and acknowledge them always as your superior. That's one of those traits which really distinguishes my clan from others that I've seen. We respect our forefathers.
I believe Cloaked Warrior Rias is also one of my teachers, in a way, even though I never really met him before. My real teacher learned AA a long time ago in Multicity chats under a warrior named Dark Saiya-jin Vegetto, from what I was told. That was in 1998 or 1999, I believe. Later, my teacher met Cloaked Warrior Rias and finished learning AA from him directly. Being that AA is one of the speed-based styles that my teacher taught me, and also because Rias is the founder of that style, I guess you could say that I'm one of the 2nd generation instructors from that school. This elevates Rias as a sort of grandmaster to me.

Thank you Kyros...
Now I will say, even though I've been someone who has trained warriors for a very long time, it doesn't mean they've trained me. Most of the warriors who have trained under me I have become the best. I will say, that growing up in the early times that I was the best roleplayer. Til this day I'll brag that I'm the best. However; my students have done more than I have. I will start off like this...
: Squall aka Kyros - I'm sure you all have seen the name Squall around in the chats, but there is only one man with that real name. And he went by Kyros later on. Back in Char31s we had about the best group of warriors you could gather around. It was the home which introduced many of the different fighter styles, if not had some born from the place.
Squall was just a simply warrior when he came, but didn't know much about fighting. He indeed was someone who could fight, but couldn't grasp the whole concept at the time. It was I who took him under my side to teach him the descriptive detail of fighting.
We simply didn't fight with hand to your face now type of auto or T2. But, sentences which made a lot more sense. Squall grasped onto that power and become one of the strongest fighters known to the chatroom realm. It was I who simply gave him the first push, the rest was on his own.
Later on I trusted him to be the Guardian of Char31s, while I was gone. I never knew I would come back. That is during the time Alex became Rias. However, when I did come back Squall I was running the whole show. It took everything in my power to get control...however, my old student made this very difficult. We joined up for the Dragon Sword Saga...and went on from there.
It was later I had a dual with Squall and tried to kill him with a dagger tucked into my boot, this was all coming from the evil form which I was in at the time. Dispute the attack, Squall lived on and became someone who didn't only inspire me, but the rest of roleplayers the time on...

Squall Lionheart? I believe that was his name. I think my teacher used to spar with him on a friendly basis, but I'm not sure. Wasn't there a whole clan of Lionhearts from Chars31 at one time?

Jiminy, Rias, I'm honored. Man, those were good times. I can imagine, if we could have something like live tape of how everything was going on, we'd be laughing at ourselves from way back when. Kinda like in Rocky IV when Rocky and Apollo are watching their previous bouts and laughing about it, etc. Dexter - You rang?

Blah, you don't gotta do that. I'm just the same as anyone else here. Just a guy who did his time, etc. Had fun, made friends out of it, etc.
Anyway, in the vein that Rias has laid down, I'm fairly certain I've learned something from every major opponent I've faced. Rias' indomitable will. Flik's constant adaptation and pushing for everyone to learn. Zozma's mindgames. Warlock's constant challenging. Blazerine's devotion. There was always something to learn from everyone.
