Throughout the history of RP there have been many tournaments. Some of them were great, some were awful. However, they were all lacking something. None of them crowned the Undisputed Best Fighter in the land. They were either speed tournaments or turn-based tournaments. This tournament will mark the end of that.
For the first time there will be a tournament held with no style brackets. All fights will be fought in best out of threes. One fight will be in the style of Fighter A, the second of Fighter B. If they go 1-1 then the third fight will be in a mutual style. A mutual style will be the style in the middle of their two chosen ones. For example, if A wants T2 and B wants T1, then the third fight will be in hybrid.
Another flaw in tournaments is the fact that people can not make online appointments. Realizing this, fights in this tournament will not have a time limit unless someone disappears without saying when they will be back. Fighters who know that they aren't on often will have to give a time frame when they will be online. For example, the last time I was online I said I'd be back by August and here I am. If it comes apparent that one guy is stalling then they will be disqualified.
One last thing: all fights will be death matches. An unfortunate thing I've seen happening over the last few years is that people aren't going in for the kill. Everyone is just fighting to five. This will bring back the excitement and also make it more challenging to the participants. If you don't want to kill your opponent you can always just knock them out instead.
To enter, just post in this thread that you're interested. The tournament won't actually start until late this year to give you guys time to prepare. With the b03 format, you truly have to be on the top of your game. It'll be worth it though. The winner can say that they are the best all around fighter on the net; not just in speed or TB but in both.
I would like for this to be the greatest tournament of all time but I can not do it by myself. I ask that all members of this board enter. With 100+ participants, it would truly live up to my dreams.
