So I figure, this will be a history as well as my take on a few things.
It started with a dream, really. Those stories that I used to read, about knights, warfare, chivalry, etc. Didn't really help that I was a gamer, and I was just getting into the whole RPG ordeal.
We got the internet, and it was soon the addiction I needed. My mind was always at work, creating some sort of character. Some sort of wish to be better than I was before, but the spirit had been unwilling to go through it. Given that everything I remember happened during my teenage years, it was a sort of growing up.
Genesis
It started with roleplaying as Squall Leonhart in this ill-fated place named charmander31. Back then, I was heavily into Final Fantasy VIII and felt a connected tie to that character. It was the game to play at that time, and I wanted to step into those shoes. It became so bad that, as most noted, I would go after anyone who used the name, etc. It was -my- moniker and no one else's.
I started to pick up the tenets of fighting from a few friendly souls. WhiteKnight21x was the first guy that I remember actually learning from. We were all scrubs (in a general sense), but there was always that hunger to learn.
Gears of Fate
I happened to stumble on some of the more well-known fighters in my life-time. I got my first taste of real fighting and started to engross myself in this new sub-culture. One hour online became two hours. Three. Four. Dedicated to a pursuit. Within a couple of months, I was one of the top ten around in charmander31. I started to meet all these people. Rias (known back then as DragonMasterAlex/DragoonKnightAlex), DeathMetalOnslaught, and of course, BlueLightningFlik. I remember witnessing the big fight between Alex and Flik in T2 (my first ever witnessing of it). It was heated, it was intense. And still, we all craved more.
Brotherhood
With all the clans running around, I sought to create a clan with whom many could identify. One of those power-struggle type deals. Being Squall at the time, I came to name the army "The Lionhearts". We were a ragtag bunch, and truthfully, I didn't have the heart to turn anyone away. You could've thought of it as the sort of "Those without power, join us!" type deal, where those who wished to be stronger could train, whereas those who were weak could find solace with. It was an interesting concept and it actually worked... for as long as a clan could conceivably work. The Lionhearts had this specialty core called "Legendary Knights". Bear in mind, I actually didn't come up with that title; someone else gave me the name and helped form in its creation.
Wars and Beyond
I still remember the first all-out war that we had. It actually had nothing to do with the Mystic War (which will be explained later). I forget who it was, but a bunch of guys taking on the Saiyan moniker came through and were like, "Oh, 3 PM, time for the raid." So as a result, Chars actually unified to take on the menace. The three major clans at the time (Lionhearts, HighLand led by Flik, and Warlock's Death Knights) actually fought side by side. Truly an inspirational time.
The Mystic War was befuddled. I honestly don't think that everyone truly remembers it all. My memories of it are different. To start, I never really bantered over who would fight off the Mystics. I wanted to defend the homeland, obviously, but there were several others. I didn't stop them. It was this long and drawn-out war. As I remember it, Flik actually played both sides of the war. Kinda skillful, if you ask me.
Revelations
It all starts getting muddy after this fact, mostly because the rest of this time was just a blur. I was starting to catch up to life. High-school graduation, going to college, and now there were all these other new players on the field. It was an interesting time indeed. Clans were somewhat gone, and I was no longer really using the Squall moniker anymore. It was about this time that I developed Kyros Valchion. I'd experimented before with other created characters, having realized that a created character might actually be more beneficial in the long run than an established character with pre-set limits as it was.
Was I Ever #1?
I'll be honest. I never saw myself as the best. I never really gave Flik a sound, decisive victory in our time; at best, I fought to a complete draw with him. However, I guess, some people considered me #1, or the guy to beat, or whatever you wanna call it.
Exodus
By this time, I think I had spent most of my time around, not really doing much. Slowly started to lose my hunger to infinitely get better. About that time, yeah, was when MG started to make his rise to the top. And man, we had some good fights. In the end, yes, MG overtook me and began his own legacy. And look at it now. Good shit, man.
Exile
As a result, I left the RP community for a couple of years, getting accustomed to new life. I moved out, went to an acting conservatory, and started getting my life settled. But every now and then, I would actually meander back and say hi to people. Hence why I'm actually back here now. To see what's become of everything.
I honestly can't remember everything off-hand right now. But if you actually wanted to talk about it, I'd actually try and remember any specific subject. Such as why T2 sucks now. Or how everyone should invest in a money marke -- wait, wrong topic.
At the very least, things are brighter in the future.
