Atreyu is one of the few people I have ever had to go all out against. Ever since the firstd ay we met we clicked. We both wanted to get stronger and dethrone Kyros. He was the only thing keeping us from total domination. I'm not sure if he ever beat Kyros orn ot.
Atreyu had a thing for making clan names. Together we had a ton. From Wind Blades, to Helix, to RSX, to Ruujeks. His signature group was the Outlaws.
The most historical group we had together were the Ruujeks. Within the Ruujeks there were two sides: my side and his. His consisted of DSG (his son), Amicus (his woman/DSG's mom), and himself. My side was Yush and myself. Everything was good until I ate Gohan. Atreyu got pissed and shit went downhill from there.
From here on out Atreyu and I just ran shit. Once DSG got good we became a speed fighting trio. I remember one time, some guy with some long awkward name got pissed at Atreyu for messing with his chick. Atreyu owned him 5-0 in RT2. His name was Zennoushariaphario or some shit. Classic Atreyu.
Another thing that stood out about Atreyu was his creativity. Aside from his confusing attacks, he always fought in character. He never degraded himself to being cheap. He also always used attacks pertaining to his character. His fighting style motivated me to start using hadoukens, raging demons, etc as well.
Hiro, Kael and I hooked up as well. We became the Trinity of Slaughter. I was Reaver, Kael was Reaper, and Hiro was Reader.
Here is Atreyu's opinion on the greatest of all time, coming from an argument between Kael and I:
"Since we're going on who's the best of us three, I'd be willing to allow MG to take that title. Despite the fact his style is "cheap," no one has a record like he does. He's never come up with random excuses as to why he loses or why he wins. He'd be devastated sure, but even so he's been better than all 3 of us for the longest period than anyone else. I was always just beneath him but sure, I get my victories here and there against him. He would never "choke and get nervous" like 99% percent of the people who T2. He would never say, "I'm so cold I can't fight correctly." Nor would he ever say, "I'm nervous against you." Although Kael may claim to be the best at his "peak," that's something that can't be distinguished unless we were able to compress time and fight each other all at our peaks. Otherwise there will always be the argument, "I wasn't at my peak then.""
Atreyu's legacy lives on through Ukyo, through me, and through this site.
