So far in the world of speed fighting there have never really been a lot of tournaments. Well we're going to put an end to that. The last few days I've been mulling over the positives and negatives of more than one tournament per year (which usually doesn't even happen), and I can really only come up with one negative. The positives definitely outweigh the negative'(s), so I'm here to make that happen. What I'm hoping for in this instance is to breath if anything at least a little bit of life into something that is slowly dying, yet never will be completely dead. So if it's never going to be completely dead, why not have fun with it?
History of RolePlay will now be hosting Seasonal Tournaments. Yes that does mean 4 a year. The way this is going to work is once one tournament ends, people will be able to sign up for the next tournament. In doing this it will allow a larger group of fighters per tournament; also it will give a clear cut picture of when this thing will take place. There's now way you can't make sure you're able to get some free time if you know about something three months in advance. Once registrations are put up, they'll be up for about two months and then locked. So two whole months for every one to gather fighters, and once the registrations are closed that gives everyone about an entire month to train for the big event. This is the best possible way I can come up to host these tournaments. I will be in contact with people who I want to help me organize these events should everyone feel that this is a good idea.
Xat, as for you guys out there who are fighting out of this place you don't need to worry. I want to include you as well. I'm going to work toward bridging the gap between Xat and Eden's Era completely. Which is why I want to take a few moments here to explain a couple of things about Eden's Era and why we have certain rules. I understand that our fighting styles are pretty different, and I have had the pleasure of fighting some of you Xat goers. You might have noticed when we were fighting that I was fighting your style yes? Well to be honest, I wasn't. That's how easy it is to fight our styles. You don't even need the ability to adapt, because the differentiation is so little that it's hard to even be noticed. So to include all the Xat fighters in these tournaments, I'm terribly sorry but you will have to learn a few key rules. These rules are simple I will provide them in a list for you, but that's going in an entirely different thread because this is going to be for people to either show support or say why they feel we should not do seasonal tournaments. I will provide a link to the other thread: Xat & Eden's Era.
In the future, after a few of these go down if we have large turn outs we can discuss something like prizes for the winners. But I feel that if I offer to much of a prize, then people will come here purely for competition and it will be just one more dick waving contest. You catch my drift? But we'll deal with that later. (No matter what there will always be some competitive nature in a tournament. I do fully understand it is a tournament and that's what they're for. But we don't want it to get to the point of CT2.)
Anyway. Seasonal tournaments is now open for discussion. You the community, may have the floor.
