I have really put down T2 as a rigid form of Speed Fighting. It really doesn't allow you to have a proper array of tools to use when fighting people faster than you.
One example we can take from hybrid is that you can pretty much do anything in a post as long as you don't connect in the same post as your attempt.
This allows a lot more fun, actually, because I can set traps, move out of range ( I don't think you guys really understand the ranging concept, in all honesty, I will explain later ) and throw weapons in the same post.
In Xat combat, which is similar to Auto ( Except for the Auto Hit feature ), it allows you to do a lot in any given post. You can dodge, block, counter, all in the same post, move in and out of range, and in and out of sight.
As long as you come back into sight at one point, you are allowed to do it. Low tier magic is really fun, since it puts a limit on the earth exploding, supernova and black holes manipulation, and have a good ole' spellcaster, spellsword, or Naruto character.
Since you don't have to technically prep ( They are really heavy into characters on Xat ), unless you are pulling something out from nothing. A swordsman doesn't have to prep for his sword outside of the same post as a range, or an attempt, hell, you could connect with your fist and unsheath you weapon in the same post for crying out loud.
Disadvantages
I put the benefits of this, now for the disadvantages.
Counter-Whoring is a big problem in Xat, everyone counters or waits to counter, pretyping is also a problem too. There is no real way around this, unless you make it so you have to state what you block and dodge in every post.
Also, without a point system, people can kill you at any time during the fight, but there are philosophical principles that keep people in check for this.
The point system is probably the hardest thing with most people in a rigid system. You have to hit something, FIVE times, up to infinity to kill them. There is no way to plainly hit someone with a normal prepped attack ( Even if they rush right into the bloody thing ).
I did a joke on Tala some years ago when I was demonstrating him T2. I made the joke that I could move forward into the attack and still dodge.
; Lance moved forward into the strike, dodging the fist at his face. ;
It was kinda funny, but when I look back on it, it kinda scares me that this is allowed and is blatantly defended by people.
What Xat could look like
I would love to make a middle ground style, a Xat with harder rules, which would look like something like;
S10 straight across.
Must state what you dodge or block.
Equivalent exchange for anything you prep. ( Magic or physics manipulation in higher tier fighting )
What most people don't know about Xat is that there are many sub-styles in it, kinda like T2, but not really.
There is hand to hand, melee ( Anything you can swing ) and powers.
You can't jump into a match without STATING which one, since people there are totally different in CHARACTER.
Another problem with the rigid system T2 is based off of, there is no real logic.
Prettz used to jokingly make the sun explode when he fought me, and I kinda see how he mocks the style of T2 in how he does it, he makes it obvious that there are problems, but we still love and do it anyway.
At least you guys love the style, I cannot stand it anymore.
