Hello. I saw this thread on Google search. Not sure if anyone remembers me or not. My name is/was O.G. and I was at Eden's Era back when it had a Geocities forum (c. 98-99). I played as Allaran Darkbane in Rhydin and Ayenee, sometimes known as Allaran the Wizard, and spent most of my time hopping between the Vampire Tavern and the Red Dragon Inn before moving to forum-based RPG sites. I was also known for a time as Darkelf_Drizzt, or as Drizzt_the_Darkelf particularly during the Assassin Wars, and again during the Epic War of 2000 on Multicity; for a time I joined Raven's Brand with Jephiroth, though I also joined the Savage Knights and adopted the name Thraen Valour around 2002 or so. I remember Matt aka Juntai from Eden's Era, and just like him I too was getting emails from Wes aka Kanretsu at around that time. I actually remember our play-by-mail roleplays on Prodigy; then later Eden's Era went down and everyone migrated to different sites. I lost contact with everyone, but then I found Wes's site where he had all of those conversations saved, including the original T1 and T2 guidelines that Matt, Alex, Blake and them had written for Geocities; and actually I recognized Juntai's name before me, that's how I found this site.

Contributions? Not many. I wasn't very active back then when everyone else was becoming famous. I helped design the Codex for many Geocities and Angelfire sites. It was a very basic fighting system designed to be a simplified version of T2, for noobs. The rules were 4-5-4, and 7 to counter. Wes took the Codex and renamed it to Code-X, which later evolved to the X-Code or ofty named 'Olde Code' dueling system. Although it became popular on Rhydin for a time, my system eventually fell out of favour and after a while of being absent, so did I you could say.

Actually, I remember Wes coming to Eden's Era in 1999ish, as a guest from Geocities (he was using the name Judah Avious at that time). He didn't take part in the RPing though, he seemed only interested in textual combat and tracking people down, like Juntai and myself, specifically to ask about T1 and T2 because he wanted to keep records for a site he was working on back then. I remember very clearly, because he used to email me. He also was going by the AIM name Kanretsu at that time. I was using the AIM name Allaran97.

I also remember what he told me. Kanretsu came from Multicity chat in 1998, migrated to AIM and Geocities forums, then I met him at Eden's Era on Geocities, and from there he went to Comicity chat and Anime Capsule 3 (Metawerx) before going to Castle Blackfyre on ProBoards around 2002, after which he went to RPGateway around 2006ish under the screen name Dionysus.

I didn't join RPGateway until fairly recently. I've only been there now for a little over a year. From what I understand, Dionysus still goes there from time to time, using different screen names. I actually joined RPRepository around 2010ish and didn't really discover RPGateway until around 2016ish. I am still active on RPRepository to this day. I new screen name is Gamemaster (GM) but I still go by the name O.G. and I play many roles, namely Allaran Darkbane, Thraen Valour, Drizzt the Drow, Vygoren Calygarn, Doumrae Suansa and Faedkyn Hylorra; you can find me usually in the Kingdom of Ashes group, where I am currently co-GMing at the moment with Rayne.

Scratch my above statement. I've been told that you can now find Wes (Dionysus from RPGateway) in the Void RP group on Chatzy, and within the realms of Discord private chats. This information was given to me by a little red birdy. As for me, you can still reach me at the RPRepository under the username Gamemaster (GM), aka Allaran Darkbane.
