I don't really know where to start, but I guess I should with roots.
I started off on C-A kids chat when I was 9, and got into speedfighting pretty early. I don't have an outstanding record nor one worth mentioning.
Immediately after I picked up speedfighting (t2 was my best style and my first,) I didn't see much of a difference but then I suddenly noticed speedfights all over C-A. I hovered between KC and VGC, and never really saw any 'famous battles.' When I did, it was usually just an elite establishing dominance over a challenger. That was the norm for a while on C-A. The only well-spoken of elites I actually remember that I hear of here would be Atreyu, Maverick (whom I was friends with,) Specter, MistGlider and much much later, Ukyo (whom I fought with and lost against horribly on Refuge.) I stayed on C-A for a while, training with my friend Flashbreaker (who was much better than me, but preferred longer styles.) I had never seen Flash lose until I met Optic who also preferred longer styles.
Optic offered me training and I accepted, and he gave me the nickname "Minimized Potential" which was my speedfighting name for quite some time. I never to this day really figured out nor asked if he gave me that name in an offensive manner or not. It was odd but I just stuck with it. In my prime, I hit 150-165 WPM on sites that required forced accuracy (such as typeracer.com). I believe Flash at all times was around 170 and Optic broke 200 in his prime. They were the only 'elites' I actually hung out with/around, and after spending a few years on C-A I started moving around to other chats. 321 and Realchat for a very short time, and then I went to Refuge which is where I stayed for a few years with occasional visits to C-A. After that, I took a break from speedfighting altogether which lasted for about 2-3 years.
During my prime I never really knew of any 'champions' or such, I just fought for fun. Coming back now (albeit to my dismay of being much slower,) I feel a driving ambition to acquire SOME of my old speed back, and while I know I will never be a champion in ANY style or in the top 5, i'd like to get my name somewhere. That's basically it about me.
Noticable people in my speedfighting life:
Optic: The only 'amazingly' fast person that has actually 'trained' me for a long period of time, sadly he no longer has internet. Great friend.
Flashbreaker: I always looked to him as "2nd to Optic," and he also trained me quite a bit. Great friend.
Shadow Manductor: I've known Shadow since I was on C-A, before either of us picked up speedfighting and we've been friends ever since. He's eons faster than me, but it's nice to see a friend get that fast. Great friend.
Cain: Someone I met after I came back to fuge this year, originally met as enemies. Turns out I knew him from C-A as long as I'd known Shadow. Great friend, also trains with me.
Ukyo: I've only fought Ukyo once, but it was right before my prime on Refuge and he 5-0'd me. The only reason I thought it was significant was because after I lost (naturally I was angry,) he was cool about it and actually gave me pointers and trained me for a short time. Recently ran into him again on refuge.
That's basically it about me.
Name IRL: Adrian
Names in Prime: Minimized Potential, Drak9Cataclysm, Sting
Names now: Dredger, Behemoth, Bandana Blue
WPM now: 120 - 140.
Styles: T2, H4 (S15 and S20, but I suck.)
